Dusty Rose, baby girl newborn session | Frederick MD newborn photographer

Last year, when I was pregnant with Casey, I was super-happy when my friend announced her own pregnancy. At 15 weeks pregnant, and days before she was due to find out if she was having a girl after her three boys, she actually discovered that she had a molar pregnancy. The baby that she thought she had been carrying for the last three months didn't exist. My heart broke for her and her family. "Well, it wasn't a real baby". Harsh words in a world where you are still mourning what wasn't, but you thought was. Molar pregnancy doesn't end there. It manifests as a tumor that you need to have removed, and endless tests to make sure it doesn't grow back, all the while unable to try and have the baby that you desperately thought you were having for three months.

Meet Dusty Rose. If ever there was a rainbow baby deserving of the name, this is she. A true light after such a hard year. Beautiful, sleepy and very very loved by her three brothers and mum and dad. You can see photos from her mummy's maternity session HERE!

I'll even forgive her for coming while I was on vacation, making me miss out on her birth!

{Rainbow baby: a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss.In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better.}
